Baseball Queensland Launches the Emerging Athlete Program to Foster Young Talent in Baseball Development
Baseball Queensland is thrilled to announce the launch of its highly anticipated Emerging Athlete Program. Designed to lay the foundation for aspiring athletes who align with Baseball Queensland’s Performance Pathway, this program aims to enhance the skills and development of players from Little League to U18.
Under the guidance of Nick Bachono, Player Development Coordinator at Baseball Queensland, the Emerging Athlete Program will provide participants with targeted improvement strategies tailored to their individual needs. By focussing on enhancing baseball tools and fundamental movement patterns, this comprehensive program will propel young athletes on a trajectory of continuous growth and progress.

Bachono will work alongside dedicated and experienced coordinators plus special guest appearances from members of the Brisbane Bandits throughout the program. These appearances will provide participants with the chance to interact with and learn from top-level athletes, gaining invaluable insights and inspiration to fuel their own baseball journeys.
His expertise in coaching young athletes and his dedication to their growth and success will contribute significantly to their journey in the Emerging Athlete Program.

The EAP is dedicated to delivering targeted instruction, and to achieve this, participants will be divided into groups based on their age and skill level. This grouping strategy ensures that each athlete receives instruction tailored to their specific needs and progress.
The program encompasses a wide range of baseball training components, including speed, agility, throwing, infield and outfield drills, hitting, and strength and conditioning. These comprehensive sessions aim to improve fundamental skills, enhance overall performance, and foster well-rounded athleticism.

Will there be live-streaming?

What are the tournament rules?

What are the age limits for the tournament?
12.1.2. Women: Competing Players must be fifteen (15) years of age prior to the commencement of the Championship. 12.1.3. Youth Women: Competing Players must be at least twelve (12) years of age prior to the commencement of the Championship but not have turned sixteen (16) years of age as of 31st December in the year the event takes place.
12.1.4. Girls: Competing Players must be 10 years of age prior to commencement of the Championship but not have turned 13 years of age as of 31 December in the year the event takes place.
12.2. It is the responsibilities of all teams that contain under-age Players to ensure all adult team personnel comply with their State’s Child Protection Legislation. In addition, please refer to the section relating to the taking of images of children
What are the Bat regulations for the tournament
39.5.3. Bats for use in Girls State Titles must feature USA Baseball marking and not exceed 2 5/8th inches in diameter.
39.5.4. Youth Women and Women State Titles – a bat may be no more than 34 inches in length; nor more than 2 5/8th inches in diameter, and if wood, not less than 15/16ths inches in diameter at its smallest part. The minimum diameter for a bat, which is less than 30” long, is 7/8ths of an inch at its smallest part.

Is there parking on-site?
Yes. There is limited parking in the All Stars Baseball Club car park, but there is plenty of street parking.
Will there be food and drink available to purchase?
Yes. All Stars Baseball club will be running a canteen.
Is smoking and alcoholic beverages allowed at the venue?
No. Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed. The facility is a Tobacco and Vape free area. Smokers are asked to leave the facility (footpath surrounding the facility).
The Open Women’s event (9-11 Dec) will have alcohol available in compliance with the Host Club’s liquor licence – no BYO permitted. In accordance with National Policy, the Youth Women and Girl’s event will be a tobacco and alcohol free event.
May I bring my pet to the venue?
Yes, however, your pet must be leashed at all times and under-control. Pets are not permitted in the dugouts or on the playing surfaces.
Can we bring our own shade and seating
Yes. There is only limited seating and shaded areas at the facility so we encourage spectators and players to bring there own seating. Please ensure you are mindful of all other persons when setting up your area.
Are there restrooms onsite?
Yes. There are two locations, please refer to the site map to see location. Site map will be included in the official program.
Is there first-aid on-site?
Yes. The first aid officer will be located close to the club house.

In a proactive move towards bolstering organisational effectiveness, Baseball Queensland has announced the formation of two new advisory panels: the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisory Panel and the Heritage Advisory Panel. These panels aim to provide additional capacity, guidance, and expertise to the Board of Baseball Queensland, facilitating a more inclusive and culturally diverse future for the sport.
Under the recent measures implemented by the Board, each advisory panel will be led by a Director of Baseball Queensland, ensuring that the organisation benefits from a broad range of experiences and perspectives. This collaborative approach seeks to improve the effectiveness of the organisation, as well as foster a stronger connection with the community. Expressing gratitude to those who have taken on roles within the advisory panels, the Board of Baseball Queensland is eagerly anticipating the forthcoming contributions from these panels. Moreover, they are eagerly looking forward to welcoming other passionate individuals to join the advisory panels, as the board continues to expand the suite of panels in the coming months.
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisory Panel will play a vital role in shaping Baseball Queensland’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities and cultivating an environment of inclusivity within the sport. By bringing together experts in equity, diversity, and inclusion, this panel will help develop strategies and initiatives to enhance accessibility, remove barriers, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for individuals from all backgrounds.

Comprising enthusiasts, historians, Hall of Fame legends and passionate individuals with a deep appreciation for the sport’s heritage, this panel will work closely with the Board to safeguard and promote Queensland’s baseball legacy. They will contribute to initiatives such as heritage events, historical documentation, and the recognition of significant achievements and milestones.
The establishment of these advisory panels reflects Baseball Queensland’s commitment to continuous improvement and their recognition of the importance of diversity, inclusivity, and heritage within the sport. Baseball Queensland is thrilled to announce the long-awaited return of the Baseball Queensland Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner after an eight-year hiatus. The much-anticipated event will mark a significant milestone in celebrating the outstanding contributions and achievements of Queensland’s baseball legends. To ensure the success of this prestigious occasion, the recently appointed Baseball Queensland Heritage Advisory Panel will oversee the planning and execution of the event.
The Heritage Advisory Panel, composed of esteemed baseball experts and enthusiasts, will play a pivotal role in resurrecting the Hall of Fame and Award Dinner to its former glory. Their primary responsibilities include devising a comprehensive framework for the nomination and election processes and ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the selection procedure. The panel will also guide the induction of new Hall of Fame candidates, adding to the rich history and tradition of baseball in Queensland.
The Heritage Advisory Panel is inviting nominations for prospective Hall of Fame candidates. The community is encouraged to nominate individuals who have left an indelible mark on Queensland baseball. To facilitate a thorough assessment, nominators are requested to provide detailed information, images, statistics, and records that substantiate their nominations.
The Heritage Advisory Panel will diligently review all submissions, verifying the validity of each nomination and evaluating them against the established criteria. This meticulous process ensures that only the most deserving candidates are shortlisted for the 2023 ballot. The culmination of this year’s selection will take place at the highly anticipated Hall of Fame and Awards night, scheduled for September 16, 2023.
The reinstated Baseball Queensland Hall of Fame and Award Dinner promises to be an unforgettable event, rekindling the passion and enthusiasm for baseball within the Queensland community. Attendees can look forward to an evening of celebration over a two course meal, as the new inductees join the ranks of the esteemed Baseball Queensland Hall of Fame.
