Female State Titles Draws 17-21 Dec 2021 and Results Updates from Bannister Park.

Baseball Queensland would like to welcome all players, coaching staff, officials and supporters to Hendra for the 2021 Women’s, Youth Women’s and Girls’ State Titles This December.
Over the course of four days at Bannister Park, teams will go head-to-head and battle it out to see who will reign supreme. The event kicks off with the Women’s State Titles taking place on the weekend of the 17th to 19th of December across two divisions. This will be followed by the Youth Women’s and Girls’ State Titles, beginning on Monday the 20th of December, and concluding on Tuesday the 21st. There will be a lot up for grabs over the course of the four days, as not only will the winners take home a State Title, these titles will play a part in the selection process for the National Titles that will be held 2022.

Many thanks also to the Umpires, Scorers and Coaches for their valued contribution to this event. Umpiring and scoring can be quite challenging and I’m sure you will all join me in extending our gratitude to these valuable volunteers.

I would also like to recognise the contributions made by the Committee and Members of All Stars Baseball Club for their efforts in making this event successful.

On behalf of everyone at Baseball Queensland we wish all the teams the best of luck over the coming days.

Futures League (Opens) – Ash Anderson Cup

Futures League (Opens) – Ash Anderson Cup

Baseball Queensland in partnership with the Brisbane Bandits is proud to announce the Futures League (Opens) competition will be playing for the Ash Anderson Cup.

The Baseball Queensland community were saddened earlier this year when Ash tragically passed away following a car accident.

Ash has been involved in our Queensland State Performance Pathway Program and the Brisbane Bandits Academy over the last several years, a member of Surfers Paradise and Beenleigh Hawks Baseball Clubs throughout his junior playing career. Ash’s latest Queensland representation was his selection in the 2020/21 U18 Queensland Team. Following a successful Queensland Showcase Event, Ash was selected in the National Training Squad. His outlook on life, determination towards his development and infectious smile was a major influence on many players and coaches throughout Baseball Queensland.

Baseball Queensland Commissioner, Mr Chris Norrie commented that “It is fitting that the prize for our Futures League is in memory of Ash. He was the embodiment of what this league is about: having courage, stepping up and giving your best. The Ash Anderson Cup will therefore always serve as a reminder of that spirit.”, Norrie said.

Mr Mark Ready, of Brisbane Bandits stated that “Ash was a special person on and off the field. This is a great acknowledgment to always keep him in our hearts and memory. It also allows him to keep making a positive impact in his community and the game which he loved”, Ready said.

The Ash Anderson Cup will be presented to the winning team of the inaugural Futures League (opens) Championship game scheduled for Wednesday, 17 November 2021 @ Bannister Park, Hendra starting at 7:00pm.
