Baseball Queensland is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Norrie to the role of Manager, Queensland Women’s Team and Karina Connors to the role of Manager, Queensland Women’s Development Team ⚾
Both Lisa and Karina have extensive history playing for both Queensland and Australia and bring a wealth of coaching experience and expertise ✨
Lisa has managed Queensland teams and Women’s ABL teams to date and was recently in the USA as a guest coach at Instructional League with the Oakland A’s organisation.
Karina has managed representative sides and has coached on various Queensland teams including the U18 Queensland team and Queensland Women’s teams.
On behalf of Baseball Queensland we wish them both all the best for their endeavours with their respective roles 👏

U16 Queensland Team Manager Appointed

U16 Queensland Team Manager Appointed

After an extensive recruitment and selection process Baseball Queensland have identified Phil Overlack as the Manager to lead the 2023 U16 campaign to the Australian Youth Championships.

Phil carries a wealth of experience in managing teams in competitive environments and has a genuine interest in building relationships with the athletes.

Phil has been involved in successful U23 Queensland campaigns and has many years of experience managing in the Division 1 GBL competition and various Regional teams through State Championships.

David Badke continues as the U18 Manager to lead the U18 program into 2023.

On behalf of Baseball Queensland we wish both gentlemen all the best for their endeavours with their respective roles.

NEW ADDITIONS TO BQ

It is with great pleasure Baseball Queensland announces the addition of three new staff members to help the organisation deliver more for the sport and our members.

After completing extensive consultation to develop the Strategic Plan; working to develop the foundation of an operations plan and detailing a budget to achieve the planned outcomes, Baseball Queensland have welcomed additional staff in the following roles:

 

Akane brings a wealth of experience growing audience engagement via a variety of platforms and will be responsible for managing Baseball Queensland’s website, socials and digital communications platforms. Akane is a passionate and skilled story teller.

 

Danica has extensive experience managing the of offices of professionals in the finance and legal industries including sensitive document controls, client management and general office leadership. Danica will be responsible for the day-to-day administration requirements of the organisation and will likely be your first point of contact when reaching out to Baseball Queensland.

 

Nick has experience coordinating player development programs at a club and regional level as well as coaching experience with the Queensland State program and Women’s ABL. Under the direction of Performance Program Manager Shayne Watson, Nick will be responsible for coordinating programs targeting T5 – T4 athletes, touring team programs and player and coach development initiatives. Together, Shayne and Nick will be responsible for the programs Baseball Queensland delivers in the Performance or Sports Excellence Stream of the Participation Pathway.

Additional staff will be added in the near future to deliver on Game Development and Club Support outcomes identified as priorities by our members and stakeholders throughout the strategic planning consultation stages. Further capacity may also be added through partnerships with other organisations to grow our ability to deliver programs and participation opportunities.

2022 Barclay Cup

The first-ever Barclay Cup will be taking place at Surfers Paradise Baseball Club, Benowa from the 25th September until the 1st October 2022.

Baseball Queensland will have two teams representing the state, Queensland White and Queensland Grey with players being announced this week.   NSW, WA, Vic and SA team rosters also announced (see below).
